The Falls Retreat Center of Saint Miriam — nestled between Shrawder Mountain and Kingsbury Hill, and surrounded by majestic rolling hills, woods and lakes — is a perfect country retreat, with accommodations for up to 16 persons in the main retreat house and an additional 2-4 in the Chapel Living Quarters. Simple and clean, this retreat center is designed for you to feel comfortable and relaxed. The Christ in the Hills Retreat House accommodations are warm and inviting and The Chapel of the Mother of God, Searcher of the Lost is absolutely stunning and affords a place for prayer and contemplation. Our Franciscan-inspired simplistic design creates a sense of peace, allowing you to let go of the busyness of your daily life. Here, your mind can be free from distractions as you enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings that The Falls Retreat Center has to offer.

To support your retreat experience, our rooms offer a minimal, peaceful design without the distraction (i.e. no televisions, telephones, etc.) All guests at The Falls Retreat Center of Saint Miriam have access to the following amenities:

Weekend seminars generally begin on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and conclude Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Noon, unless otherwise noted in the seminar description.

Weekday and Self-Guided Days

Weekday and Self-Guided Days generally begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 5:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted in the seminar description. You are afforded a welcome kit that includes a sack lunch and you have access to the common spaces, restroom, chapel, and kitchen, and trails/grounds. No access to bedroom facilities is provided.

There is plenty to do, not just at our Retreat Center, but in the area as well! You can do everything from fishing, to skiing, hiking, antiquing, and golfing. There are even zoos and amusement parks for the kids too!

What to Bring: We provide bed linens and towels, hair dryers. Please bring your own toiletries, including soap, toothpaste, bathrobe, slippers, shower shoes, etc. You may also wish to bring a flashlight, yoga mats, umbrellas and hiking gear.

Check-In

Check-in time for weekend events is after 3:00 p.m. on day of arrival. If arriving after 5:00 p.m., check-in instructions will be left for you at the reception area inside the Retreat House. Supper is served from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; if you are unable to arrive by 6:30 p.m., please plan to have supper before your arrival.

Check-out time is 12:00 p.m. Noon on day of departure. Contact us if your plans may require an early arrival or late departure. Depending upon availability, for a courtesy charge we may be able to accommodate your scheduling needs.

Dress

Dress

Dress: Modest, casual, and comfortable clothing is always recommended. Please be mindful you are in the mountains so wear proper hiking shoes or closed shoes when on trails. Open shoes are permitted on grounds.

Payment

The total cost of your stay consists of the cost of accommodations and program tuition where applicable (indicated in each program description). Full payment is required at time of registration and can be made with Check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.

Cancellations/Refunds: We offer a full refund to guests who cancel their reservation before 7 days prior to arrival. A processing fee of 50% from the accommodations total will be refunded if a reservation is cancelled between 7 days and 48hr to check-in. We are unable to offer a refund if a guest is a no show or cancels within 48 hours of their check in time.

Financial Assistance: The Falls Retreat Center endeavors to make spiritual and educational programs available to everyone. We offer some financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to attend a program. Scholarships are by application only; deadlines apply. At the Falls Retreat Center of Saint Miriam, we provide three well-balanced meals per day, and snacks for in-between! All of our meals are prepared fresh and daily by our staff with consideration to any dietary and special diet restrictions.

We strive to provide as much information as possible about the ingredients in each meal. We do have vegetarian options available. Our style of cooking draws on healthy, wholesome eating options. Wherever possible, our food is locally sourced to support farmers and produce growers. Our food is consciously prepared with the intention to nourish body, mind, and spirit.
